Instructional Design Project
New Course Designed for the CIS Department at Oakton College
CIS 214 Website Maintenance and Management
Planning Successful Websites and Applications
rd+c has created a new online course for the Computer Information Systems (CIS) Department at Oakton College in Des Plaines, IL. Oakton College is in the process of making its 3-tier Web Development Certificate Program an all online, asynchronous, experience.
With all the coding courses available online, it’s not hard to learn the technical tools and programming languages needed to build a website or Web app. However, what is less clear is how to go about the process.
The focus of CIS 214 is on the aspects of website creation that is not coding. It’s about all the other aspects of managing and running a website including working in teams for:
- Planning a website,
- Designing a website,
- Managing a website project, and
- Maintaining a website after going live with the site.
